Card payments for verified UK rent

PaymentFlux lets eligible UK tenants pay a genuine residential rent obligation by card, with funds sent only to a verified landlord, letting agent, or property manager linked to that tenancy.

The service is restricted to rent-only use. PaymentFlux does not provide a wallet, stored balance, cash withdrawal, or payments to arbitrary recipients. Each payment is tied to a specific property, a specific rent obligation, and a payee that must pass onboarding checks.

How PaymentFlux works

User-visible sequence from account creation to completion of the verified payee transfer.

  1. 1

    Verify identity

You cannot pay until verification passes.

Required before your first live payment.

  2. 2

    Add a verified payee

Payments are only possible to a checked landlord, letting agent, or property manager linked to the tenancy.

Payees must pass onboarding checks before they can receive rent through PaymentFlux. This includes role and property validation, Companies House verification for company recipients, bank account verification, and Confirmation of Payee checks.

  3. 3

    Confirm by card

You authorise a card charge for that rent amount and disclosed fee.

Fees and timing are shown before you confirm.

  4. 4

    Bank transfer to payee

When a payment flow is enabled, third-party payment providers execute the bank transfer to the verified payee when all checks succeed.

Status updates reflect transfer progress to the verified payee, not card capture alone.

Who PaymentFlux is designed for

Audience and payee context; detailed eligibility and prohibitions follow below.

  • Tenants paying UK residential rent
  • Landlords and agents expecting bank transfer
  • Payments requiring verification and traceability

How rent payments work

You submit a rent payment instruction for a verified tenancy-related payee. PaymentFlux validates the payment instruction and, when a payment flow is enabled, uses third-party payment providers to process the card payment and execute the bank transfer to that verified payee.

Flow

Card payment

Processing

When a payment flow is enabled, PaymentFlux uses third-party payment providers to process the card payment and execute the transfer to the verified payee.

Verified payee transfer

A bank transfer is made only to the verified payee linked to the tenancy once identity, payee, and risk checks have passed.

A payment is only treated as complete once the bank transfer to the verified payee has been successfully executed.

Funds model

  • Rent-only: the service is limited to genuine UK residential rent and is not general-purpose payment functionality.
  • No wallet or stored balance: PaymentFlux does not provide payment accounts, e-money, or user-held balances.
  • No arbitrary recipients or cash-out: payments cannot be made to open-ended recipients, self-payees, or cash-withdrawal style destinations.
  • Third-party payment providers: where a payment is enabled, card processing and bank transfer execution are carried out by third-party providers under their own permissions and controls.
  • Payments may be delayed or stopped where additional checks are required.

If the transfer to the verified payee cannot complete, the payment is not treated as complete and support follows the published refund and dispute rules.

Service eligibility and restrictions

Permitted uses and explicit prohibitions - pair with the funds model and journey sections above.

Who the service is for

  • UK residents only.
  • People paying a genuine residential rent obligation.
  • Payments to a verified landlord, letting agent, or property manager only.
  • Identity verification is required before live payments.
  • Payee onboarding is required before any payment can be made to that payee.

What is not allowed

  • Payments to friends or family that are not genuine UK residential rent to a verified payee.
  • Fake or misleading rent payments.
  • Payments unrelated to genuine rent obligations.
  • General-purpose money movement or open recipient payments.
  • Attempts to use the service to obtain cash, cash-like access, or a cash-advance style outcome from a card.
